Big Story Small Quarterly seeks great Australian flash, micro- and very short fiction.

We accept txt, rtf, doc and docx file types as well as giff and jpeg files for formatted text.

Big Story Small is an on line showcase for very short fiction. We publish a limited number of new stories each quarter. At this stage we are unable to pay authors. Copyright of works published in the Big Story Small Quarterely is retained by the author.

We’re only seeking works by Australian authors. Works should not have been published in print or online journals. Works published on personal webpages and other personal media platforms are welcome.

We’re seeking stories, prose poetry, and fictional works up to 800 words long (but we might be just as excited by just a few well chosen words and have a particular interest in stories that would fit on a single screen or page). From time to time we may look stories around particular themes. Details of upcoming themed issues will be published on this page.
